At the Cherry Blossom festival there were a few cultural exhibits to check out from Koi fish on display to Ikebana & here are some Mataro Kimekomi dolls. As I have seen on their website they are Kimekomi dolls made in the
Mataro style. We saw how they were made & there is so much work that goes into each doll. On the inside is a sculptured shape of the object and on the outside you apply various Japanese fabrics to bring the shape to life. I loved these racoons they reminded me of creatures from
Studio Ghibli.
